I  dagherrotipi della fototeca nella Biblioteca Panizzi di  Reggio
Emilia: loro acquisizione e restauro

Presso  la  biblioteca Panizzi di Reggio Emilia si è  costituita,
fin dal 1980, una fototeca per la raccolta, la catalogazione e  la
conservazione  del  materiale fotografico storico  riguardante  la
città.  Di  recente la fototeca ha acquistato da  privati  alcuni
dagherrotipi che, oltre ad arricchire la collezione, permettono di
documentare  le  origini  della fotografia  a  Reggio  Emilia,  in
particolare  per quanto riguarda la produzione dei dagherrotipi  a
opera  di fotografi itineranti. Tra i dagherrotipi acquistati,  il
più   interessante   raffigura   Albertina   Montenovo   contessa
Sanvitale.  è  databile  al  1846 ed è  probabilmente  opera  di
Alphonse  Bernoud. Il dagherrotipo si segnala per  la  tecnica  di
colorazione a mano e per il tipo di confezione che lo contiene.

The  Panizzi library of Reggio Emila in 1980 established  a  photo
library   for  collecting,  cataloging  and  conserving   historic
photographic  material  regarding the  city.  Recently  the  photo
library  has acquired from private sources several  daguerreotypes
that, other than enrich the collection, allow for documenting  the
origins  of  photography  in  Reggio  Emilia,  in  particular  the
production  of daguerreotypy and works of itinerant photographers.
Among  the daguerreotypes acquired, the most interesting  portrays
Albertina Montenovo, countess of Sanvitale. It is datable to  1846
and  is  probably the work of Alphonse Bernoud. This daguerreotype
is marked for the technique of hand coloration and for the type of
packaging that it contains.
