Chiara  Migliorini, La fotografia come modello. L'Accademia
di Belle Arti di Firenze

Molti furono gli artisti nell'Ottocento che utilizzarono le
fotografie   come   modello  per  le   proprie   creazioni.
Altrettanto  fecero le scuole, soprattutto le  Accademia  e
gli Istituti d'Arte, che se ne servirono come copie per  le
esercitazioni  degli allievi. Un ricco fondo di  fotografie
usate per questo scopo è conservato presso l'Accademia  di
Belle  Arti  di Firenze dove nel 1871 venne inaugurata  una
"galleria  di  fotografie" che ritraevano i  disegni  degli
antichi  maestri.  Nella biblioteca sono  conservati  anche
alcuni  documenti  dai  quali è  possibile  ricostruire  i
criteri che hanno portato alla costituzione della raccolta,
l'impiego  che veniva fatto delle fotografie,  il  rapporto
con  i  fotografi, i principi ai quali ci si  atteneva  per
concedere i permessi di riproduzione delle opere d'arte.


There were a number of artists in the 19th century who used
photographs as models for their creations. Schools did  the
same, especially the Academies and Art Institutes who  used
them as copies upon which to base exercises carried out  by
pupils.  A rich supply of photographs used for this purpose
is  conserved at the Fine Arts Academy in Florence where  a
"gallery of photographs" which depicted the drawings of old
masters was opened in 1871. Some documents from which it is
possible  to  reconstruct those criteria that  led  to  the
creation  of a collection, the use made of the photographs,
the  relationship with the photographers and the principles
adhered to for the concession of rights of reproduction  of
the works of art are also kept in the library.
